It usually take us two weeks to a month to review your application. We will evaluate if your skills are good fit to Omega based on your submission. You’ll get feedback from us and be instructed how to prepare for the next step.

An interview combined with conversational approach and case approach will be arranged online, over the phone or in person. A conversational interview will help us gain more insight into your background, personal experience and reasons for choosing Omega. We will be informed of your past accomplishments, your business interests and your career plans.  A case interview will focus on your analysis of real world situations. It will help us assess your problem solving skills and help you understand what we do as a consulting company.

5 steps to success in the interview:

Technological Awareness

Getting familiar with the technology the company uses to host virtual interviews is a must. Whether you’ve never used it, or you are familiar with the tool, make sure you are comfortable with the platform, especially if you need to troubleshoot mid-interview. Before you begin, check your mic and your camera to make sure everything is in good working order. Please familiarize yourself with these four tools Omega uses: Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype for Business, and Google Meet.

Set the Scene

Now that you’re familiar with the technology, use it to help you set your scene. Turn on your camera and start looking for a quiet place with good lighting and a neutral background. The interview can take place at your home office or at any other appropriate location. If you have a laptop and can move around to find the best spot, do it!

Practice

If you feel nervous about being on camera, conduct a mock interview with a friend or peer. They would be able to give you insight about the interview process, for instance, lighting and the overall working of your screen and audio. Develop strong eye-contact during a dry run to looking directly at the camera instead of the screen.

Success Driven

If you have a portfolio you’d like to share, send it well in advance for the interviewers to review. On the day of your interview, set yourself up early. Have a copy of the job description, your resume, and your questions ready so that everything is at your fingertips when you sit down.

Personality Test

The interviewer’s job is to determine whether you have the skills and if you’ll be a good fit for the organization. Even if the meeting isn’t in person, it’s still possible to show your personality through the phone or the camera. When the interviewer asks you to tell them about yourself, include some personal pieces along with work experience to give a well-rounded image of who you are. Be expressive when you talk, but avoid over-exaggerating. Corporate ‘fit’ is an important part of any hire, so this will help the hiring manager get a good sense of who you are and how you fit in the bigger picture.

This assignment is designed to ascertain if you have the necessary writing and research skills for the position you are applying for.
